SWEET!! Napoleon Dynamite cards

Front of cards:

Inside of cards:

Last year I noticed some really fun Napoleon Dynamite cards at Target, but when I saw the price, I thought I could try to make my own. Most of the photos are clipart I found free on the Internet, although the Chap-Stick pictures are from a Walgreen's ad. The Napoleon photo and "DYNAMITE" on the card to the right was from an ad in the DVD case. I did use CTMH stamp set "Alfresco" to make the stripes in the background and the "Atomic Caps" set to spell out "GOSH!" I tried very hard to duplicate Napoleon's handwriting on notebook paper since I could not find a good font on the Internet-- and BOY did I try!! The sentiments are phrases Napoleon actually says in the film, of course.

I'm sure she was just trying to flatter me, but the niece I sent one of these cards to said she didn't even know it was homemade. YEAH!

Thank you card

I used the Doodle Alphabet stamp set from Close To My Heart, CTMH Chocolate Stamp Pad, and cardstock from Hobby Lobby. This stamp set might be my favorite of those I've bought from CTMH.

Cake Birthday Card

I don't think this is a totally original idea. I'm sure I saw something similar in a magazine, but I just liked how this one turned out. I think it's kinda cute, even!

Maybe this is silly...

...but I think I've finally decided to go ahead and create a blog just devoted to card-making. Since we moved, I don't have anyone to run my ideas by, so my hope is that maybe my friends will check out what I've made and give me some input. If you want to post pictures of your cards, too, just email me and I'll try to figure out how to add you as a contributor.

Thanks for looking.
